Billy Gore Obituary
Billy Lewis Gore, age 89, of Nakina, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville, NC.
Born April 13, 1936 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Curtis I. Gore and Hattie Faulk Gore.
He is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Gore (Leslie) of Nakina, NC and Christopher Lewis Gore (Melony) of Lake Waccamaw, NC; one daughter, Sheila Smith of Laurinburg, NC; six grandchildren, Michael Curtis Gore, Matthew Smith, Sam Smith, Cody Smith, Seth Davis and Jessie Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo White Gore; one granddaughter, Mackenzie Gore; one brother, Carl Graham Gore; one sister, Margaret June Smith; and son in-law, Kenny Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Bethesda Fellowship Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Harold Faulk c/o Bethesda Fellowship Church 3484 Manley Smith Road, Nakina, NC 28455.

We are so very sorry to hear about the passing of Billy. Our first visit down south was during Xmas, and Billy and Betty were wonderful hosts and welcomed us with open arms. Living in MN, we enjoyed the weather immensely! Billy shared a lot of family holiday stories that kept us all captivated as he spoke, and our stomachs hurt by days end from laughing so hard!
He was a very loving man and all his children and grandchildren loved him dearly. He will be sadly missed, but he is in heaven now with God, and his loving wife Betty.
May God be with all of you during this time of sorrow.
