Mr. Billy Hedden, 83, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on March 6, 2025, at Four County Health and Rehabilitation in Richland, GA. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Buena Vista Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman officiating. The family will greet friends at the graveside after the service.

Mr. Hedden was born May 31, 1941, to Douglas and Mary Hedden. He attended ICCM Bible Institute in Chattanooga, TN, and was an ordained minister. Mr. Hedden was strong in his faith and shared the word of God will all. He loved woodworking and woodcrafts. In his youth, he was an accomplished artist using oils and pastels on canvas as well as painting murals on vans and other vehicles in the 1970’s. Mr. Hedden worked in the paint and body department at Ken Wilson Ford in Canton, NC, before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and just being outdoors in general – especially the mountains of Western North Carolina. That was his favorite spot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria June Hedden, by three brothers, Paul Hedden, Edward Hedden, and David Hedden; by a step-daughter, Kathy Bell, a step-son, Michael Bell, and a daughter-in-law, Ramona Bell.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Schwartz and Jennifer Haag; by two step-sons, Donnie Bell and Roger and Vicki Bell; by a step-daughter, Brenda Vartenisian; by two brothers, Calvin Hedden and Curtis Hedden of Alabama; and by a sister Shirley Hedden of Jackson, TN. Twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and friends also survive.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been entrusted with these arrangements.
