William "Billy" Hixson, 74 of Graysville, Tn passed away on January 15, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil "Bill" Hixson and Lorraine Hixson; his siblings, Almus Metcalf, Pat Metcalf, and Sue Grant; and his beloved son, Chris Hixson.

Billy is survived by his siblings, Carolyn Mainord (Dayton), Debbie Leffew (Soddy-Daisy), Pearl Brown (Ft. Oglethorpe), and Tim Hixson (Birchwood); his nephews, Joseph "Jody" Stewart, James "Terry" Stewart, and Kelly Fulghum; along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Billy worked as a crane operator for the Tennessee Valley Authority until 1979, when his life changed after being struck by a drunk driver. The accident left him paralyzed on one side of his body. In honor of Billy's life and experiences, his family encourages everyone to never drink and drive.

Billy found joy in simple pleasures. He loved listening to the Gaithers, playing rummy, and watching The Price Is Right. His presence and gentle spirit will be deeply missed, especially by his devoted caregivers, Carolyn and Jody.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Billy's son, Chris Hixson.

A graveside service will be held at Chattanooga Memorial Park in Red Bank on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Bolton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Terry Stewart, Kelly Fulgum, Jody Stewart, Josey Stewart, Kenneth Fulghum, J.T. Stewart, Casey Stewart, Josh Williams, and Archie Martin.
