Billy D. Kent, age 93, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully with his family near during the evening of Friday, December 12, 2025 at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Grayling. Billy was born in Atlanta, MI on May 22, 1932 to Bruce and Opal (Cumper) Kent.
Billy married the love of his life, Diane Lee Britton, on August 18, 1956. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a gunner in a tank. Billy was an avid outdoorsman. He mostly enjoyed trapping and fishing on inland lakes. He helped start the Grayling Assembly of God and helped build the current building where the church sits. He was a very active member of the church.
Billy was a very mild mannered man. One of the kindest men you could ever get to know. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.
Billy will be missed deeply by his family which includes his children, Stacey Kent, Elizabeth Teets, and Kenneth Kent; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Peggy McPherson and Audrey Winnery. Billy is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, just two months earlier in October, Diane Lee Kent; his parents and step-father; siblings, Fred, Bruce, Willard, Barb, and Dale; and great-grandson Nolyn Stade.
Funeral services will be held at Grayling Assembly of God, Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning before at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Wojdan officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in Atlanta, MI on April 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Briley Twp. Cemetery.
