Billy Dean Kinney, 59, of Sulphur passed away on June 13, 2022. He was a truck driver for 20 plus years, but was currently working for Hine Environmental. Billy loved his family and friends and enjoyed cooking bar-b-que for anyone who was passing through. He loved the outdoors, campfires, old music, old shows, and watching bull riding. He was even trying his luck at playing the harmonica. Relaxing in his recliner was part of his day and reminiscing with everyone about the good ole days. Billy had his favorite hangouts in his younger years, like the corner bar, trips to the Circle K and being with his family. He loved his grandkids, nieces, nephews and all the great ones as well.
Billy is survived by his mother, Delories Raggio Shorten of Sulphur; 3 sons, Anthony Kinney (Stephanie) of Sulphur, Dillon Kinney (fianc Jessica Spears) of Moss Bluff and Patrick Keller of Texas; daughter, Jordan Istre (Steven) of Mermentau; 2 grandchildren, Payton and Abree; 2 sisters, Naomi Majors (Chad) of Sulphur and Pam Breaux (Steve) of Lake Charles; nieces, Macy and Sierra, nephews, Jesse, Jon and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Skipper Kinney; stepfather, Vernon Granger, Jr., and grandparents, EJ and Dorothy Kinney and Eula Mary Talbert.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2 P.M. at Truth Apostolic Church in Sulphur with Pastor Ricky Buller officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 12 P.M. until time of the service.
