Troy Johnson

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, Sulphur, from 12:00 noon until 2.00 p.m. All services are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Troy Johnson, 61, went home to be with our LORD on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He very much loved his family. Troy began his career as a Millwright in 1987, traveling from state to state and working in refineries. In 1993, he was hired permanently by Firestone Polymers, where he provided for his family until an injury led to disability retirement in 2001. Troy was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where he loved worshiping, singing gospel hymns, and hearing preaching from the Word of God. He was devoted to his faith and loved the LORD.

A loving father, brother, son, and friend, he was always happy and full of fun. Troy enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on vehicles, spending time with family, and was always willing to help anyone at any time.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Magalean Carroll Johnson; his father, Troy Johnson; one sister, Kimberly Johnson; and his grandparents, Starlin and Annie Welsh Carroll, and John Henry and Ollie Willis Johnson.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include two sons, Matthew Dale Johnson of Sulphur, and John Henry Johnson of Sulphur; and his half-sister, Beverly Johnson of Saint Gabriel.
