Billy Pesnell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Griffin Funeral Home - West Monroe on Oct. 5, 2024.
Billy Gene Pesnell, widely known as Bill, lived a full and vibrant life. Born on July 1, 1940, in Louisiana, he spread laughter and kindness throughout his 84 years, until his peaceful passing on October 4, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana.
Bill's early years living in Cartwright shaped the friendly and kind-hearted man he became. Despite being predeceased by his parents, TS and Erma Lee Pesnell, and brothers, Claude, Harold, and Edroe Pesnell, he cultivated a life of familial warmth and joy. His commitment and love for his wife, Evelyn Christine Pesnell, were evident in their 60 years of marriage.
As a proud father, he cherished the memories created with his son, Barry Pesnell, and daughters, Wanda Moore and her husband Mark, Melanie Watson and her husband Todd. Sister, Lauren Brister. His legacy continues with his adored four grandchildren, Anthony, Christie, Whitney, and Allie, and his four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Oakley, Evie Kate, and Ava, all of whom inherited his funny and caring spirit.
Bill's dedication to his work at Entergy Power Company in West Monroe, Louisiana, spanned over five decades, and his service in The United States Army for three years reflected his strong sense of duty. His love for the outdoors shone through his lifelong passion for fishing and hunting, and he never missed cheering on his beloved Saints football team.
Those who knew Bill will remember a man who was the embodiment of a friendly neighbor, a kind-hearted friend, and the life of the party, always ready with a joke. His positive approach to life's journey will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Pallbearers will be Cody Lewis, Corey Lewis, Bubba Lewis, Clay Brister, Blake Cooper, and Todd Watson.
visitation will be held at Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Drive West Monroe, LA. Monday, October 7, 2024 from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. Graveside service will be held at Longstraw Cemetery 1799 Styles Ranch Road, Choudrant, La 71227 following visitation at the funeral home.
