Billy H. Peters, 75, of Adams Center, NY, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.
He was born on November 28, 1949, in Watertown, NY, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Armstrong) Peters.
In his early twenties, Billy became part of the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center family, now known as The Arc. He resided in the Adams Center residence for most of his life, where he was known for his warm spirit and playful personality. Billy loved playing cards, and with his poker chips and pocket change. He looked forward to special outings with his Arc family and enjoyed the occasional beverage in good company.
Billy was a joyful prankster who brought smiles to those around him. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed collecting cards over the years.
He is survived by his brother Clifford John Peters of Philadelphia, NY, and his sister-in-law JoAnn Peters of Pillar Point. He is also survived by three beloved nieces and their husbands as well as a nephew and his wife: Audra and Richard Ferguson of Watertown, NY; Robin and Greg McDonald of Fayetteville, NC; Angelo and Starr Peters of Dexter, NY; and Ann and Terry More of Dexter, NY. He leaves behind many more cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Billy was predeceased by his parents and siblings: Genny Frazier, Ernest "Bob" Peters, Frederick Peters, Merle Peters, Terry Peters, and Diane Peters.
Arrangements are with Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM in Dexter Cemetery.
