Billy JOHN "J.R." Rork

We said farewell for now to our beloved John on August 25, 2025, at his home in Austin Texas. He was only 62.

John adored his wife and best friend Nicole Heimlich-Rork of 22 years. Loved his son Bryan, and his fiancé Larisa Akop. He cherished his sister Cathy, her husband David Calvetti and their children Andrea Deleon, Angela and Wes Clark, Amanda Calvetti, and Jr Calvetti, his great nephews Fred, Gabriel, and Adam. John will be greatly missed by Nicole's parents, Gary and Denise Heimlich and her brother Eric Heimlich. John was preceded in death by his parents Billy and Blanche Rork and sister Elizabeth M. Rork.

Born in Big Spring Texas as a fourth generation Texan, he loved growing up on the farm and farm life. He enjoyed being first chair trumpet in his high school marching band. He studied at University of Texas and Southwest Texas (Texas State University). He managed The Oasis for several years and other restaurants in the Austin area before changing to a career that became a great passion in his life. John had the privilege of working with one of his best and well-respected friends, Gary Sansom in the insurance claims industry. John loved working with his hands, traveling, Ireland was always a favorite and loved all his dogs. He enjoyed supporting Central Texas FFA's and 4H youth scholarships.

John's journey through life was filled with love for family, friends, and faith in God. Anyone who met "J.R." had a friend for life. Please remember John for the strong, hardworking, caring man he was and not for the cancer that shortened his time with us.
