Robinson-Walker Funeral Home – Oak HarborBilly Ray Seymour 87, of Oak Harbor, Ohio Passed away Wednesday November 5th, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born June 25th, 1938, in Harlan Kentucky to Claude and Gertrude (Hampton) Seymour. On May 31st, 1971, he married Alberta Kathryn Allison in Clairmont Ca. She preceded him in death on September 3rd, 2023. Billy Left Kentucky and moved to Ohio to be with his brothers that had moved to the area; he worked for US Gypsum company and was then transferred to California where he met Berta. They came back to Ohio for their honeymoon and fell in love with the beauty of the Lake Erie area, where they moved to live out their life together. Billy then worked at Uniroyal in Port Clinton OH where he retired.
Billy was a member of St Paul's Lutheran church in Oak Harbor and loved his visits with Pastor Cheryl. Billy loved animals and would volunteer his time for many years at a local nursing home with his beloved dog Sweetie, while visiting patients in the dementia unit. Billy also loved to go camping with the Bolyard Families and riding 3-wheelers on the frozen lakes and rivers. Billy founded the 3-wheeler riding club in the 80’s and led the group in the Apple festival parade in Oak Harbor for many years. He loved his 1979 Lincoln Continental which he restored, and the car will continue to be in the Put-In-Bay Sunday car parades as a historical vehicle. Billy also loved a good party and many people came to visit over the years in his party room in the basement “the dungeon”. The room was filled with interesting decorations and many friends signed dollar bills on the ceiling. Billy always had the motto to stay positive and he continued to share those feelings with others throughout his life.
Billy is survived by 6 of his 7 children. Wanda Moore, Rick Seymour, Dean (Phillip Colavito) Seymour, Doug (Cindy) Seymour, Scott Seymour, Kathryn “K.C.” (Jeff) Bast. Billy had 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. His grandsons DJ Haycox and Jacob Seaman will miss their phone calls and visits with their grandpa as they visited as often as they could. He has one living sibling his sister Alta May who he loved dearly, and his Special Niece Denise Poynter from Lexington Kentucky who he adored and fondly referred to as “Denise Denise my favorite Niece" she was by his side along with his daughter K.C. as he passed.
He is preceded in death by his wife Alberta, his parents, siblings, Henry, Eugene, Howard, Imogene, Elzy, Charlie and his Son Billy Seymour.
