Billy C. Spurlock, son of the late Bill and Gloria Spurlock, age 78, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. A devoted husband, Billy shared over 50 cherished years with his beloved wife, Penny. Together, they built a life filled with many wonderful memories and joy, raising two children, Tina Goad (Jason) and Mike, who preceded him in death five years ago.
Billy was a man of many talents and passions. He was the proud owner of a small heating and cooling business, where his hard work and dedication were evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, Billy was an avid farmer for many years, finding great joy in tending to his cows and miniature ponies. His love for the outdoors extended to his garden, where he cultivated an abundance of vegetables, generously sharing his harvest with neighbors and friends. He enjoyed his Saturday morning visits at the Catlettsburg McDonalds with many friends that he made over the years.
Known for his infectious humor, Billy was a prankster at heart, always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. His kindness and compassion were equally renowned, as he often extended a helping hand to those in need, providing shelter and a warm meal to friends who were less fortunate.
Billy's legacy lives on through his six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Karleigh and her two children Karson and K'Mayrah, Courtlyn, Jaycie and Jadyn, Nevaeh, and his best buddy and only grandson, Braxton Spurlock. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Billy is preceded in death by sisters Sharon, Jeannie, Kim, brothers George, Ron, and Danny. Those left behind to miss him are three sisters Linda (Jimmy), Judy, and Jan, one brother-in-law John, a special sister-in-law Paula, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Billy C. Spurlock will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. His spirit of generosity, humor, and hard work touched the lives of many, leaving a solid mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his family, friends, and community.
A memorial service will be held at a later date this spring at the Spurlock Family Cemetery.
