LILESVILLE- On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Mr. Billy Tice, 97, passed away peacefully at his home in Lilesville.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Monday, January 5, 2026, at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Helms officiating. Interment will be private.
A public viewing with no visitation, due to the Flu outbreak, will be one hour prior to the service.
Billy was born October 30, 1928 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Frank Alexander Tice and Donie Jane Coppedge Tice. He was a graduate of Deep Creek High School and was a veteran of the Untied States Army. He and Billy Williams owned and operated Triangle Shell Service Station and following that he worked at Huntley Buick until his retirement. Billy has been a member of North Wadesboro Baptist Church since 1976, having served as Sunday School teacher, usher and deacon. He was a gentle and kind man, known for his warm spirit and compassionate nature, always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear, he dedicated his life to helping others. Billy enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with friends and family.
Surviving are his daughter, Ellen Tice Goodwin (Lonnie) of Wadesboro, his son, Donald Tice of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Wendy Burr (Kevin), Kimberly Harris (Shane Presley), Derrick Tice (Kimberly), Holly Martini (Anthony) and Jennifer Polson; his great-grandchildren, Abigail Underwood, Noah Underwood, Kaelynn Presley, Kinsley Presley, Brookelyn Tice, Joseph Polson and Liliana Martini; his sister Frances Rumbly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Faye Moore Tice; his son, Jerry Tice; his grandson, Russell Hough; his siblings, Frank, Richard, Charles, John, Tommy and Robert Tice, Mary Newton and Betty Meachum.
