Blain Chamberlain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Premier Funeral Services - Orem on Apr. 4, 2025.
Blain Chamberlain, 91, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully with family by his side, Saturday morning, March 29, 2025. Blain was born on June 19, 1933 in Kanab, Utah to Robert and Lasca Chamberlain. He grew up in Orderville, Utah, attended Valley High School where he
played both basketball and football.
Blain was enlisted in the Navy from May of 1952 through May of 1956 aboard the USS Marias - A057. During this time the ship was assigned to the Mediterranean and he was able to visit many exciting ports.
Blain married Ramona Meeks on August 20,1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. During his time in the Navy, Ramona was able to join him and live in Spain for a short time. Their first child, Lori was born in Spain.
After his time in the Navy, while Blain worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, the family moved to several different locations. In 1984 he moved into a wonderful neighborhood in Orem, Utah where he retired in 1990 and lived for the rest of his life.
Blain loved sitting on the front porch keeping an eye on the neighborhood. He enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends, telling stories and talking about "God's country" Southern Utah. He loved it when the neighborhood kids would come and visit him and he always had a little treat (candy) for them. He loved watching John Wayne movies and western TV shows, with Gunsmoke being one of his favorites.
He also loved to watch football and golf.
Blain is survived by his three children, Lori Whiting of Silverdale WA, Julie Bragg of Vancouver WA and Curtis Chamberlain of Payson UT, two grandchildren, Crystal and David, one great grandchild, Jacob, and his nieces and nephews. Blain was preceded in death by his wife of 64
years, Ramona and his grandson Joshua.
The family wishes to thank everyone who has extended sympathy and support through this trying time.
