Obituary of Blaine Barton Rubey
Blaine Barton "Bart" Rubey passed away peacefully at his residence on January 20, 2024, at the age of 73. Born to Morell and June Rubey on March 7, 1950, in Keokuk, Iowa, he moved to many places during his life but spoke fondly of his days in Verona and Berkeley Heights, NJ, and South Newfane, Vermont. However, his fondest memories were the ones he made in his home of Warren, NJ, where he lived for 47 years.
Bart was a farrier by trade and had a lifelong love of horses. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, and wherever his children and grandchildren went, Pop was sure to be there. He will be greatly missed.
He is predeceased by his wife, Adele McCarthy Rubey, and his brother, Richard Rubey.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Coslet, and her husband, JJ; his son, David Rubey; his grandchildren, James, Grace, Adele, and Thomas Coslet; his brother, David Rubey (Louise); his sisters, Charlotte Moyer (Jeff) and Karen Rubey (Michele Barry); and sister-in-law, Winnifred McCarthy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 4 to 8 PM, at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Family memorial tributes will take place during the visitation commencing at 6:30 PM. A funeral service will be held on the following day at the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow after his funeral service at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, 459 Chestnut Street, Stirling, NJ.
Bart's memory will be cherished and honored as we gather to bid him farewell.
