Blake Simester Beavers

Blake Simester Beavers, age 41, passed away on September 27, 2024, in St. Augustine, FL. Blake was born on October 16, 1982, in Atlanta, GA, the son of Lucy Long and Carrol M. Beavers Jr. Blake grew up in Watkinsville, GA, and graduated from Oconee County High School in 2001. A talented athlete, Blake played middle linebacker and served as the defensive captain on the Oconee HS Warriors Football team that won the 1999 state championship. Blake moved to St. Simons Island, GA where he founded and operated St. Simons Island Construction Company. He served as a firefighter in Glynn County Volunteer Fire Department for four years. He later lived and worked as a contractor in Colorado and Montana for 7 years. He returned to the Golden Isles three years ago where he continued his construction career. Blake had a deep passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities like fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and boating. He was well known for his creativity and strong work ethic. He never did anything halfway. When Blake committed to something, he was all in. While he had a special fondness for his Weimaraner dogs, his greatest love was for his family and friends. He cherished every moment spent with them and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, Lucy Long (Mike Boyle) of St. Marys, Ga.; his father, Carrol Beavers Jr (Virginia) of Bowman, Ga., his sisters, Katy Boyle (Mike McCarthy), Kelsey Mayo (Trent) of Kennesaw, Ga.; Brothers, Brett Beavers of Hull, Ga., Chris Boyle (Josie) of Toronto, Ca., Josh Huff (Jessica) of Cleveland, Ga.; a nephew Thomas Mayo, and nieces, Finley and Evelyn.
