Mr. Henderson passed away on July 17, 2022, in Nacogdoches. He was born July 30, 1982, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Laird Funeral Home.
Blake was raised in Carthage. As a child, he developed a love of being outdoors. Some of his favorite memories were made in the garden with his parents & grandparents, taking the harvest and sitting on the side of the road to sell it. Blake was one of a kind and in any setting, he was likely to be the center of attention. He was an accomplished carpenter, loved deep sea fishing and had a great passion for overcoming any "escape room" he could find. Blake lived a very charismatic lifestyle and had many friends he spent his time with. He loved his family most. He and sister Ayrika had a bond only siblings share. His mamma and daddy were the ones he looked up to and always wanted a life close to them on his grandparents' land so they could all be close. He made sure his mom and Ayrika had what they needed, and Ayrika knew he was her biggest fan. When Blake became a father, he found a different love of family. He adored his daughters, Taylor and Kayleigh, more than life itself and always strived to be the best dad he could be. He was blessed to have his nephews, Kason, Zane and Tyson and enjoyed teaching them the fun things in life, just as any uncle would do. Blake thought his life was complete. He was wrong. He met Krista. Together, they were complete. Blake didn't know what his life was lacking until Krista became the missing piece. They were married on the spur of the moment by Klay Register, right in his living room, on September 19, 2019. The date was chosen because that is what Blake did. He was spontaneous and he loved the pattern of 9-19-19. He saw it was the same forwards and backwards. That was the day. The day he married his best friend and began their perfect union together. Krista found a passion for animals (one Blake and the rest of the family already had) and she fell right into the country girl lifestyle. She didn't know Blake was missing from her life either, until he was there. The two of them, along with their kids and family were bonded. They loved with all they had and never put boundaries on that love. Blake had always dreamed of returning to Mammaw and Papa's place and making a home with the rest of the family. He did just that. He was finally home. His simple, yet meaningful days included a "good morning" text to the love of his life or a "datchew" text to Say (Ayrika). He checked on his parents, made sure the kids had what they needed, spoiled Krista, his girls, and his mamma and always showed up to help his dad. The one thing he would NOT do is get on the roof or a ladder. (Someone else had to do that). He fished, hunted, and traveled every chance he got. But he was always happiest at "Henderson Farms" building something, fixing something, or just being the resolute, devoted man he had become. Blake was taken from us too soon but his outgoing nature and wonderful attitude toward life itself will live on. His friends will continue with all the shenanigans; his children will continue his legacy and his wife, parents, sister and brother-in-law will make sure all the little ones remember how special he was to them all. In true Blake style, we say "This is not where it ends, I will carry. you with me 'til I see you again" – by Carrie Underwood
