On Thursday, May 5th, 2022 we tragically lost Blake Hunter Houghton, a father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend, at a heartbreaking young age of just 19 years old. Blake is a recent graduate of Boerne High School who had a passion and love for helping others. Blake studied basic emergency technician skills as well as recently worked as a nurse's aide at Town and Country Nursing and Rehab Center in Boerne, Texas where he was loved by all his patients and co-workers.
Blake led a life of struggle but determination. He lived in and out of hospitals most of his childhood life due to a heart condition. He wasn't able to play sports, run with the other kids and driving looked to be a far away dream. It wasn't until his early teen years where they finally were able to diagnose him with Left Handed Fascicular Tachycardia and life began to change for him. Blake recently had a son, born in February 2022, who he adored tremendously. Blake was a fighter. He will be forever missed.
Blake is survived by his 3 month old son Jeremiah, mother Jennifer Blankenship of Boerne, TX, father David Houghton of Stephenville, TX, sister Shyann Dixon-Wyatt of Granbury, TX, brother Brett and sisters Brooke and Bristol Blankenship of Boerne, TX, Grandparents Sandra (Mam Maw) and Wayne (Paw Paw) Houghton of Stephenville, TX, Grandmother Tammy (Mimi) Blankenship of Boerne, TX, Great-Grandparents Shirley and Pete Houghton of Wedowee, AL, Great-Grandfather Larry Tate (Pawpaw Larry) of Stephenville, TX, Aunt Elisha (Aunt Lisa) and husband Scott (Uncle Scotty) McCutchen of Canyon Lake, TX, Aunt Tiffany (Aunt Tiffy) and husband Rob Coad of Boerne, TX, Aunt Nina Cornelius of Waynesville, NC and countless cousins, second cousins, family members, friends and community members who loved and adored his amazing soul.
Services will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Boerne, TX with a public viewing beginning at 1:00pm with church services at 2:00pm and graveside service to follow at Mission Park Cemetery Dominion. Those who wish to send flowers may send them to Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, TX.
