Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the school on Wednesday. Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Revillo.

Blake Arden Sime was born on August 11, 1958, in Ortonville, MN, to Stuart and Lucille (Hiepler) Sime. The oldest of Stuart and Lucy’s boys, Blake came roaring into this world 40 minutes before his twin brother Blair. Three years later, his youngest brother, Brian was born. Blake was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Revillo and later joined the Catholic Church. He grew up in the Revillo, SD, area and attended school at Grant-Deuel School, graduating with the Class of 1976. During his high school years, Blake was always helping out his neighbors and friends with harvesting, milking cows, or doing chores. He dove into his own farming operation right away and continued to farm the land with many crops his entire life. He also raised cattle, pigs, chickens, horses, and most recently, turkeys.

On September 7, 1985, Blake was united in marriage to Brenda Wollschlager at Annunciation Catholic Church in Revillo. Because they fell in love, their sons, Justin and Josh were born. Their two sons, in return, gave them seven wonderful grandkids. With all those special blessings, they were able to enjoy 38 years together.

With Blake, there were no strangers, just friends that he had not yet met. Cattle was a huge part of Blake’s life. Along with that industry came many lasting friendships as well. Farming kept him busy, but Blake’s community was important to him. He served as a Revillo Volunteer Fire Fighter for 47 years. Blake also served on the Adams Township Board, Revillo Farmer’s Elevator Board, Church Council, Spirit of the Cats Board, the Revillo Housing Board, Revillo Park Committee, the Minn-Dak Pig Corp., Twin Brooks Threshing Bee and the Marietta Legion Pork Chop Feed. Blake was always volunteering his help where it was needed.

One of Blake’s famous lines was that he would “be home in a little bit”, which is usually what he would tell Brenda when he was at the Lone Tree Butcher Shop or the Station. He was a regular at the Watering Can Café with the breakfast guys. Every summer he looked forward to the Rosen Golf Cart run. Always a guy who loved to play games, enjoying playing Pinochle, Rummy, and Whist. Brenda always made sure to call him during planting and harvest time to Uber him around from field to field. He thoroughly enjoyed his Argentina trip with his friends and neighbors as well as other winter trips. In recent years, he looked forward to his winter trip to Arizona to visit his twin brother, Blair, and his wife, Peggy.

Most of all, Blake adored his grandchildren. And to his grandchildren, he was their most favorite person in the entire world. He always had time for them to ride with him on the golf cart or in the payloader, the combine and pushing up feed with him in the ranger. He never missed an opportunity to have a treat with them and play hide and seek, baseball and have water fights with them or attend one of their events.

Left to cherish Blake’s memory are his wife, Brenda Sime of Revillo, SD; sons: Justin (Shiloy) Sime of Revillo, SD; and Josh (Cheyenne) Sime of Milbank, SD; seven grandchildren: Andee, Boyd, Coree Ann, Judd, Huxton, Hendrix, and Theo; brothers: Blair (Peggy) Sime of Newport, MN; and Brian (Debb) Sime of Revillo, SD; along with many, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Ed and Kay Wollschlager; and grandparents, Ernest and Lucille Sime; and Otto and Mary Hiepler.
