Blake Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buchanan Funeral Service on Mar. 11, 2026.
Blake Tyler Thomas, 18, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of determination, athletic excellence, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Blake was a proud member of the Piedmont community. A dedicated multi sport athlete in his early years, he went on to become an accomplished high school wrestler whose work ethic and competitive spirit consistently set him apart.

Beyond the wrestling mat, Blake embraced life with the same intensity and enthusiasm. He was especially proud to hold the Wake Zone record for the most consecutive laps without falling. A feat that took over two hours of constant wakeboarding to accomplish-a testament to his endurance, focus, and love for the water. Whether competing, training, or spending time with the people he cared about, Blake brought energy, humor, and an unmistakable presence to every moment.

Blake is survived by his loving mother, Melynda Thomas; his father, Travis Thomas; his brother, Justin; and his sisters, Ariana and Kynslee. He is also survived by his maternal great grandparents, Lyle and Iona Hoyle; maternal grandparents, Don Hoyle and Betty Martin; paternal grandparents, Mart and Carolyn Thomas; and Pam Thomas. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, at 2:00 p.m. at The Bridge Church in Piedmont, Oklahoma, located at 4050 Edmond Rd NE. Arrangements are entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Services, 8712 N. Council Road, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In honor of Blake, the family invites members of the wrestling community to attend wearing attire from their school or club.

Blake's strength, character, and unwavering determination will be remembered by all who knew him. His impact will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.
