Blanche Ann Todd, born December 7, 1934, in Howard County, IN, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 2, 2024, at the age of 89 years. Ann was a dedicated and passionate educator who devoted 30 years of her life to teaching in public schools. Her commitment to education and her students' success left a lasting impact on countless lives. After retiring from her esteemed career, she remained an active member of the First Baptist Church in Asheboro, where she found joy and fulfillment in her faith community. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H. Lloyd Todd; her parents, John W. and Olive Smith; her brother, Jay W. Smith; and her brother-in-law, Jack Holland. She is survived by her loving children, Janette Beyea and husband Alan, Gregory Sheppard, Sue Medlin and husband Bill, Timothy Shepard, Wesley Shepard and wife Jane. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Rae Holland and Arlene Phelan. Ann was a proud grandmother to Kelly StCyr, Kala Parker, Gregory Shepard II, Glen Shepard, Joshua Burns, Jessica Vassar, Zebediah Shepard, Abigail Tipton, Wesley Shepard Jr., Casey Shepard, and Spencer Shepard, and a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Ann's legacy of love, education, and faith will be remembered and cherished by her family and friends. A memorial service to honor her life will be held in Florida at a later date, where her family will gather to celebrate the remarkable life she led. Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service in Asheboro is honored to serve the family of Blanche Ann Smith.
