Brian Schamber

August 16, 2025

My name is Brian Schamber, but I'm known as PyroBriBri online. I met Nori through our shared love of the Shantae game series in 2017, and was lucky enough to meet him in person at SGDQ 2018. After having a terrible time at the previous year's event, I was scared to go again. But Nori made me feel as though I belonged and would make time for me, even though I was a relative newcomer in the community and struggled in most social situations. The experience I had there made me truly come to think of him as a friend.

In 2020 I became extremely busy at work, and mostly stopped being online. But the rare time I did stream after that, Nori would manage to show up. And any time I would get the motivation to be social and stop by his stream, he would welcome me back as though I had never been gone.

Words alone can't express what he means to me. He was a mentor and rival in my favorite Shantae game, and the type of friend that can rarely be found. And although I may not have been around much the last few years, the friendship he gave me was something that I always held dear.

So thank you for the friendship, Nori. And although you may be gone, the love and kindness you shared will forever be a part of all the lives you touched. Rest well, my friend.

Ben Sandom

My name is Ben Sandom, but Nori knew me as Turkey. I've had the honor of his company and friendship thies past 10 years.

We met through our mutual love of speedrunning shantae and ever since then, even if it was through voice calls, have been side by side just chilling, ribbing on each other, just having fun.

He is one of the few genuine people I've ever known. Alway lifting the spirits of those around him, keeping us afloat in dark times, no matter how big or small, he was there to help.

You are the best of us and will forever be in my heart. My friend, my twin, my brother. May you rest in peace knowing how much you meant to us all.

We shall meet one day, get the system ready, I ll bring the whiskey and we shall race shantae again, one more time. I love you brother. Take care bud.

Eric Johnson

August 12, 2025

My name is Eric Johnson, aka "Drumboardist" on Twitch (and various other platforms).

Jamison wasn't the closest friend of mine, but had a few shared hobbies, and met up during those social events to great aplomb. We both studied Japanese, speedrun video games, had a *deep* hatred of driving in Wisconsin, and a mutual dislike of Xfinity -- mine from having to employ them for my internet access, and his from having WORKED THERE.

But none of that matters. Last time we met up, he helped me jump-start my car, and I bought him breakfast in response. Then we both grappled with the various games we shared, our struggles therein, and how to get better at both -- and better, as people.

I know he didn't like me calling him it -- since his internet-handle was JTNoriMaki -- but I think he kinda enjoyed the playfulness of my referring to him as "DJTeriyaki". Plus, I mean, we went out for Sushi a couple of times, we had the same interests and loves, he bought into it. I'll always appreciate him for that.

I'm sad that he's gone, and I won't be able to "complain about Jeff" to him, and get that solemn-nod. But he'll always be in my memory, as a friend. Made too late, gone too soon.

My name is Michael R Decker, also know as ChaplainLemartes on Twitch.tv and Discord, and I give my heart felt condolances and prayers to the Family and friends of Jamison, whom I knew as Norimaki_Sr(formerly JTnorimaki). Nori was a joy to be around no matter the situation at hand, enjoyed every moment I got to spend with him as well as everything I've learned from him. A Wonderful mentor for learning how to stream on the platform, Speedrunning, Puns/dad jokes, and most of all being a wonderful and great friend. Almost 10 years of knowing him and being his friend, it hurts to say goodbye. But I know I will see him again at some day behind the pearly gate. and When that day come, I hope he's Ret 2 go.
