Bob Dezic died June 20, 2025 at home, as he wished, at the ripe age of 94. The youngest son of Andrew Dezic and Marguerite (McVilla) Dezic, he was born March 17, 1931 in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1974, he bought his first home in the New Jersey suburb of Montville. But he always loved the North Country and for years looked for his next home. In 1996, he found it in Monroe, New Hampshire. He bought the land and proceeded to build his dream log home – he never wanted to paint again. He moved north in 1999.
He enjoyed being a member of St. Joseph's parish in Woodsville, New Hampshire.
He is survived by his niece, Deb Landau, who was with him at his passing. His sister, Margaret (Dezic) Landau, and brother, Andrew Dezic, predeceased him.
Bob was a proud Teamster truck driver for Safeway Stores and then Finast– a "city driver" – for more than 25 years, until his employer relocated. He then worked in the Pfizer warehouse in Parsippany, New Jersey, doing a little bit of everything, until he retired in 1998.
Bob could repair anything, though automobiles were his bread and butter, at least until computer chips took over. He could identify any vehicle in any movie made before 1970. He enjoyed his garden as long as he was able. Friends knew not to call between 7 and 8 each night, because he was watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Til the end, he did the Jumble and Cryptoquote in the newspaper every day.
He was a force of nature, and did things his own way, always. He was blessed with good neighbors and always happy to have company. Bob wanted to leave the house every day, to see what was happening in the world. He transitioned to being the passenger, until it became too difficult. Going to dinner with family and friends at Tim Bir Alley was his biggest treat for years; it was hard to tell him when the restaurant closed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pine St., Woodsville, New Hampshire, followed by interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Sorry to here of Bob's passing. I always liked to here about his trucking days in Jersey. We talked a lot about gardening and he looked forward to his niece coming up to help. He always had a smile on his face, I'll remember the times we visit while I was working. My thoughts are with you all. Sincerely Wayne Lees (Shaw's Dairy Dept.)
