Bob Fechner

Robert "Bob" Fechner, age 74, passed away on November 18, 2025. Born on April 14, 1951, to his parents Joyce Fechner Carlson and Kenneth Fechner, Bob was a lifelong Duluth resident and proud Denfeld graduate. Known by many as "Uncle Bob," he had a rare gift for making everyone feel like family.

Bob worked for 30 years at Hyman-Michaels in Duluth, retiring at the young age of 49. He was kind, selfless, and had a big heart-the type of person who made friends wherever he went. He loved sports, fishing, bowling, playing cribbage, and working through his daily crossword puzzles. Whether he was cheering on the Vikings and Twins or spending time with friends and family, Bob brought humor, loyalty, and warmth to every moment.

Bob is survived by his son Cory Fechner; his brothers Ken (Bernadette) Fechner and Lennie (Adrian) Carlson; his special niece and cribbage partner, Stephanie (Paul) Lundgren; his close friend and former wife, Becky Fechner Omundson; and many other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friend John Watkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Jeff Fechner; and his sister Peggy Fechner.

Bob was loved by countless friends and was always there for anyone in need. His spirit, generosity, and easygoing nature will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
