Bob Flynn

Robert J. Flynn, Sr., 88, of Branford passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025 at the Hospital of Saint Raphael Campus, YNHH. He was the husband of the late Grace Follo Flynn. Born in New Haven (Goatville) April 10, 1937 to the late Edward "Shrimp" and Henrietta Wulff Flynn, Robert retired as Manufacturing Manager from Dana Corporation (Echlin Manufacturing Company) in 2000 after 45 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army – SP5 rank, assigned to the Medical Unit at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, New York.
Bob was a coach in the Branford Little League and in his youth played on championship teams in the Farnam Neighborhood House basketball league and the American Hungarian Social Club fast pitch softball in New Haven, winning the citywide division title in 1953. He also played in the Industrial Fast Pitch softball league with the Echlin Bombers, winning several league championships.
Bob is survived by his son Robert Flynn, Jr., granddaughter Sara Grace Flynn, brother Edward Flynn, Jr. of New Haven and brother-in-law Salvatore Follo, Sr. of East Haven. He also leaves behind nieces Doreen Gambarella, Kathleen DelVisco, Marie Follo, Joanne Follo and Maryanne Croche, along with nephews Edward Flynn III, Martin Flynn, Jr., Salvatore Follo, Jr., Joseph Follo and dear friend Doreen Dombrowski. He was predeceased by brother Martin Flynn, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Thursday morning from 10:00 – 12:00, followed by a ceremony at 12:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum.
