Bob Green Rutland, 75, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Bob was born in Dallas, Texas on April 3, 1948 to the late Robert Hugh Rutland and Bertha Martin Rutland. He moved to Valdosta as a child and attended Valdosta City Schools. Bob was co-owner of Rutland Music Company and worked at the music store for more than fifty years.
Bob was a faithful member of Park Avenue Church, a member of the choir for more than 57 years, and a longtime member of the Pairs & Spares Sunday School class.
Bob's surviving family includes his brothers and their families: Bert and Sandy Rutland of Valdosta, Pat and Triena Rutland of Richmond Hill, and Riley and Rhonda Rutland of Valdosta. Nephews include Bert Rutland Jr of Lake Park, Andrew Rutland of Valdosta and Troy Allen of Barcliff, Texas. Nieces include Jennifer Rutland Otterbach of St Augustine, Amy Rutland Temples, and Arabi Allen Hall of Valdosta.
As Bob requested, a private graveside service will be held. Memorials may be made to Park Avenue Church's music ministry or building fund at 100 East Park Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31602.
