JoAnn Henderson Rutland, 90, of Brandon, MS passed away May 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Sebrell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.
JoAnn was born December 5, 1934 to Alfred Denon and Ollie Paris Henderson. She grew up in Lucien, MS and graduated from McCall Creek Highschool. She worked as a Sales Consultant at Casual Corner and Dillards and enjoyed interior design. She loved cooking for her family and sharing her recipes with others.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gerold Dean Rutland; parents, Denon and Ollie Henderson; daughter, Vanessa Pinson; siblings, Lula Henderson, Marie Johnson, Mildred Moore, Ruby Ratliff, James Henderson, and Marion Henderson; and aunt, Minnie Henderson.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Deanna Rutland Lovelace; son, Lance Dean Rutland; daughter-in-law, Tammy Rutland; son-in-law, Bill Pinson; grandsons, Landon Dean Rutland, William Chase (Whitney) Pinson, Gerold Trevor (Megan) Pinson, and Davis Gage (Taylor) Pinson; granddaughters, Sarah Faith Rutland, Ashley (Daniel) O'Connor, and Courtney (Whitt) Simmons; great-grandchildren, Ella James Simmons, Rowan Dean O'Connor, Tatum Grace Pinson, Daniel Nichols O'Connor, and Evie Ann Pinson; sister-in-law, Joann Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Pax Hospice and give a special thanks to Shelby, Nicole, and Debra.
