Annette White Scruggs, a devoted Christian woman and lifelong resident of the Jackson, Mississippi area, peacefully entered her eternal home with the Lord at the age of 87, on August 5, 2025.Born on August 7, 1937, in Jackson to David O. White and Hazel Singletary, Annette lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1955 and went on to attend Mississippi State College for Women.

A gifted pianist, Annette taught piano lessons in her South Jackson home for many years and spent decades faithfully playing in churches across the area. She continued using her talents to worship and serve well into her late 70s. Her music touched the hearts of many and will remain a cherished part of her legacy.

She worked as a church secretary for numerous years and eventually as a legal secretary for her late husband, Attorney Thomas H. Scruggs. She and Tom loved to travel and go camping in the Great Smoky Mountains. Annette was a talented homemaker, always cooking the most delicious meals. She passed down her passion for cooking to all three of her children and they still cook many of her recipes today. Annette's greatest joy was her family.

She leaves behind three children: Dianne Switzer (Jack), Sandra Campbell (Andy), and Chuck Watson (Jami Lynn); seven grandchildren: Brittany Schiappa, Brock Ainsworth, Julia Kowalski, Hunter Ainsworth, Marshall Campbell, Tyler Watson, and Zach Watson; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom, her parents David and Hazel, and her precious granddaughter Margaret Ann Campbell.

Annette's life was a beautiful reflection of grace, love, and steadfast faith. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her loving spirit, and her deep devotion to the Lord and to her family.

A funeral service celebrating Annette's life will be held at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi, on Saturday, August 16th at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning

at 10:00 a.m. the same day. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as we honor her memory, her faith, and the love she shared so freely. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CrossRoads Ministries in Canton, Ms. –

Mrs. Annette always treated just like one of her own. I remember spending the night with Sandra and she would wake us up Saturday morning to do chores before we could go out and play. Fond memories of the hill on Raymond Road. Love Beverly Wilder
