Robert (Bob) V. Schwabe II, beloved husband, father, and brother, departed this world for heaven on May 2, 2025, leaving the memories behind of his passion and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on April 15, 1948, to Robert V and Mildred Steele Schwabe. Bob's life was a testament to the power of hard work and the importance of family.
Bob's journey began as a bright-eyed young man in Kansas, OK, where his roots ran deep and strong. He carried the spirit of his hometown with him as he pursued his education, graduating from Kansas High School in 1966 as Valedictorian where he was active in all sports, 4-H, and FFA. His thirst for knowledge led him to Northeastern State University, where he earned an associate degree, and then on to Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he achieved both a bachelor's and a doctorate in Pharmacy. Bob's academic pursuits paved the way for a career as a respected pharmacist, but his heart always belonged to the rolling pastures of Hill Haven farm, enjoyed by the Schwabe family spanning five generations. It was there that he found his true calling, nurturing the land and tending to his beloved turkey, dairy, and beef cattle operations.
Bob's commitment to service extended beyond his farm as he served on the Kansas School Board for 14 years, shaping the minds and futures of countless young individuals. His dedication to education and the well-being of his community was unwavering, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
Family was the cornerstone of Bob's life. He was a loving husband to his wife, Janet Houston Schwabe, a guiding light to his children-Robert (Trae) V. Schwabe III and wife Jennifer, Ashlee Pierce Cowan and husband Kyle, and Clifford Paul Schwabe-and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren-Robert (Rob) V. Schwabe IV, Megan P. Schwabe, Alexa K. Schwabe, and Mary K. Schwabe. Bob's sister, Mary J Stonecipher, and her late husband David, also held a special place in his heart.
Bob's daughter, Patricia Louise Schwabe, his parents, Robert V Schwabe I and Mildred Steele Schwabe, preceded him in death, leaving a lasting impact of love and strength that Bob carried throughout his life.
Bob's interests were a reflection of his love for life and family. Whether he was attending local sporting events, spending peaceful hours on his tractor or on his Polaris with his Border Collies, or taking the kids to St. Louis to watch the Dodgers, Bob embraced every moment with joy and enthusiasm. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every opportunity to be with them, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness.
As we bid farewell to Robert (Bob) V. Schwabe II, let us carry forward the lessons he taught us through his example. Let us embrace the adventure of life, cultivate generosity in our hearts, and pursue our passions with unwavering determination. Bob's legacy is not one of mere memory, but of action and inspiration-a call to live fully, love deeply, and make a difference in the world around us.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Bob spent his final moments, the skies seem to reflect the brightness of his spirit. And though he has passed from this earth, his light remains, guiding us forward. Let us honor his memory by living as he did-with courage, with love, and with a boundless passion for the beauty of life.
