Robert D. "Bob" Schwarm, 83, of Farina, IL, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the First Christian Church, Brownstown with Pastor Nathan Brands officiating. Interment will follow at. Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the First Christian Church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brownstown First Christian Church Building Fund, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, or the Fayette County Cancer Fund. Robert Dwain Schwarm was born on June 18, 1939, in Loogootee, IL, the son of Ervin and Louise (Helm) Schwarm. He married Faye Sefton on August 20, 1955; together they celebrated 67 years of marriage and raised four sons.
Bob was in the farming and trucking business for most of his life. He was a member of Masonic Temperance Lodge #16 for over 50 years, was a Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and member of the AINAD Shriners Temple. Bob loved playing golf at the Vandalia Country Club, where he was also a member.
Mr. Schwarm is survived by his wife, Faye Schwarm of Farina; sons, Bobby Schwarm and wife Brenda, and Monte Schwarm, both of Farina, and Kyle Schwarm of Brownstown; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Mary Schwarm; son, Lindel Schwarm; grandson, Curtis Schwarm; great-grandson, Benji Focht; brothers, "Little Moody" Schwarm and Herschel Schwarm; sisters, Arlene Bergman and Becky Harre.
