Bob L. Tarpley
October 31, 1943 – July 20, 2025

Bob L. Tarpley passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 81. A proud resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, Bob was known for his love of life, his deep connection to his community, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

Born on October 31, 1943, to Lee Roy Tarpley and Evermae Tarpley, Bob lived a full and adventurous life. Over the years, he wore many hats-he was a natural-born salesman, a daring crop duster, and even a fearless bullrider in his younger days. Later in life, he developed a passion for Texas Hold 'Em poker. He trained as a professional dealer and moved to Shreveport, where he was hired on the spot at a local casino. He worked there for sixteen years, eventually serving as a respected supervisor in the poker room.

Bob was known for his big smile, quick wit, and love of a good story. Whether at the card table or surrounded by loved ones, he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and perseverance, even through sickness, always maintaining his spirit and grace.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Charmaine Tarpley; his son, Clay Tarpley and wife Carla; his daughter, Lori Tarpley Boyce; stepdaughter Hollie Roane and husband Jason; stepson Ryan Yates and wife Angelica; his brother, James Tarpley and wife JoAnn; six granddaughters and two grandsons; as well as numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana.
