Publish in a newspaper

Bobbie Joyce Bennett was born May 29, 1954, to the parentage of Wiley Bennett and Myrtle Nichols in Cameron, Texas. She received her formal education through the Cameron Independent School District.

She professed her belief in Christ at an early age, becoming a member of the Progressive Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the kitchen and hospitality committees. She also served as a Steward and member of the choir. She was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.

After relocating to Temple, she eventually became a part of the Eighth Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Roscoe C. Harrison, Jr., serving in the choir and Mission I.

Bobbie worked and retired from both Temple Independent School District and Veterans Administration. She would later begin to drive for the HOP until her health began to fail.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Larry and Harry.

Survivors are: her daughters, Rachel Cooke and Jackleon Brown Pierce, both of Temple, TX; two sons, Michael Cooke and Anthony Cooke; both of Temple, TX; two brothers, Ronnie Bennett (Inez) of Fayetteville, North, Carolina, and Bobby Hardeman (Bertha) of Miami, Florida; twenty-two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
