Bobbie Jean Porter

Bobbie J. Porter, 76, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. She was born in Louisville on December 29, 1948, to the late Joseph Ora Ralph and Dimple Casey Ralph but raised in Daviess County. Bobbie attended Owensboro Catholic High School with the class of 1966. Early on she worked at the Cigar Factory, Walmart, and the Carmel Home and later as a nurse. Bobbie enjoyed fishing, camping, and sewing. She was a long-time member of Owensboro Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Ralph and Vincent Ralph.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of almost 58 years, Lawrence “Larry” Porter; three children, Nancy Hobgood (Mark) of Dixon, Larry Porter Jr. of Atlanta, and Brandon Porter (Michelle) of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Rachel Newsome, Danielle Auden, Makayla Porter, Faith Hutcheson (Eric), Gage Porter (Nova), Eli Porter, and Hayden Hobgood (Rebekah); eight great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Ralph (Rose) of Centertown; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, November 24 at Owensboro Christian Church in the Student Room. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
