Bobbie Jean Harrington Potts, 88, of Shallotte, North Carolina entered into her heavenly home on Monday, June 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Bobbie was born on August 3, 1936, in Alexander County, NC to the late Lloyd Parks Harrington and Dessie Chapman Harrington.

Preceding her in death are her husband Dr. Samuel James Potts; her siblings: James Harrington, Ellen Harrington, Richard Harrington, Graydon Harrington, Don Harrington, Charlie Harrington, David Harrington, Betty Harrington Echerd, Alice Harrington and Faye Harrington.

Surviving are her son Michael "Mike" Potts of Shallotte Point, NC; siblings Doug Harrington and Kay White (Mac) of Taylorsville, NC; granddaughter Meagan Bellamy (Kirby); and great grandson Floyd Bellamy, all of Shallotte Point, NC. Aunt Bobbie was also loved by her many surviving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several cousins.

She was an active member of New Beginnings Community Church and a provider of childcare for many children within the community. Over 175 children that she cared for in her home knew her as "Memaw". Memaw was a loving and generous person and was loved by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at New Beginnings Community Church, 730 Whiteville Road NW, Shallotte, NC 28470 by the Reverend Brad Ferguson and the Reverend Jason L. Benton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
