Bobby Barrow, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1939, in Franklin, Kentucky, the son of Eugene Barrow and Anne May (Ward) Vannatta. On May 7, 1960, he married his wife of 65 years, Starrelaine “Starr” Rhodes, and she survives.
In addition to Starr, Bobby is survived by his daughters, Robin Tucker and husband, Mark, and Shonda Barrow, both of Shelbyville; son, Richie Barrow of Shelbyville; brother, Kenneth “Butch” Barrow; grandchildren, Justin O’Neal and wife, Maria, Nikki Curry, Jared O’Neal, Greg Ayers, Cassandra Camp and husband, Ryman, and Kendra Chapman and husband, Colton; great-grandchildren, Iliana O’Neal, Brandon O’Neal, Serinity Chapman, Sage Chapman, Ruby Camp and Greyson Camp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Eugene “Little Bobby” Barrow; brother, Clarence Barrow; sisters, Barbara Snoddy and Susan Barrow.
He retired from Ford Motor Company in April of 1995. He was a machinist for 31 years.
Bobby enjoyed going bowling, hunting, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed shooting pool and woodworking.
He loved his family most of all.
Visitation will be from Noon to 2 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville.
Funeral service will follow at 2 pm, Friday, at the funeral Home, with Pastors Coetta and Denny DeWitt officiating.
Interment will be at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 91891, Washington, D.C. or the Cancer Association of Shelby County, PO Box 844, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
