Bobby Gary Doster

Bobby Gary Doster passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023.  Bobby was born October 31, 1937 in Warren County, Georgia to Herschel and Inez (Cranford) Doster and raised in the Princeton community of Athens, Georgia.  He and his wife of 53 years, Martha (Stewart) Doster, were long time members of the community in Watkinsville, Georgia, and were charter members of Briarwood Baptist Church.  Bobby graduated from UGA's Forestry program and worked as a forester in South Carolina for several years before returning to the Athens area.  Bobby and his brother Glenn then owned and operated Doster's Garage in Watkinsville for 45 years.  Bobby supported his sons and their childhood friends as a long time Scoutmaster with Troop 149, and he was very proud that both of his sons and three of his four grandsons earned the rank of Eagle Scout (with the fourth to follow soon).  Bobby was preceded in death by his wife and parents.  He is survived by son Curtis, wife Mindy and grandsons Ryan and Will of Atlanta, son Corey of Bogart and grandsons Jake and Grady of Watkinsville, and brother Glenn, wife Janet and nephew Jimmy of Watkinsville.  Bobby will be remembered as a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather.

The family will receive visitors from 10: am, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Oconee Chapel located at 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA with services to begin at 11:00 am at Oconee Chapel.  Following services, a reception at the Fellowship Hall of Briarwood Baptist Church will be hosted by Bobby and Martha's dear, long time friends.
