Mildred Reynolds “Mickey” Day, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, following several years of declining health.
Mickey was born in Crawford, GA on October 12, 1935, to the late John W. Reynolds and Laura Hall Reynolds, was the wife of the late Reginald Day and sister to the late Bobby and Terry Reynolds. She was a lifelong resident of Crawford and graduated from Oglethorpe County High School with the class of 1953. While in high school she was a basketball cheerleader for four years and a football cheerleader for 2 years. After high school she attended Athens Business School and worked for several years as a secretary. She also worked as a substitute teacher in the high school for 17 years. She and her late husband, Reginald became involved with the Athletic Booster Club and the Oglethorpe County Recreational Department. Mickey also worked with the IRS and EPA Research Lab, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include her two sons: Mike Day and Jonny (Penny) Day; grandson: Dillon (Tara) Day and two grandchildren: Eula and Syl Day.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:30PM at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside from 1PM until 2PM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel.
