Bobby Hardy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba on Dec. 26, 2025.
Bobby "Pete" Hardy

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Bobby "Pete" Hardy, who left us on December 25th, at the age of 77. Known for his tough, sometimes gruff exterior, Pete was a man of great strength and even greater heart. Beneath the rugged surface, he possessed a heart of gold and a spirit that earned him the respect and admiration of those who truly knew him. A graveside service for Pete will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Harris Cemetery in San Saba, TX. and will be officiated by Pastor George Watson. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.

In his younger years, Pete proudly served in the United States Coast Guard, where his commitment to service and duty formed the backbone of his character. He approached life with the same resolve that defined his military service: steady, strong, and unwavering.

Pete provided for his family in a number of ways over the years, but his true legacy lies in his unwavering love for those closest to him. He married his loving wife, Marsha, on September 4, 1989 and together they built a life full of shared memories and 36 years of unwavering devotion.

Though he wasn't one for crowds, those who were fortunate enough to earn his trust saw a man who cared deeply, loved fiercely, and had a soft spot for the things that mattered most. He cherished his family and never missed an opportunity to love them in his unique ways - which usually included some sort of playful harassment.

Stubborn as ever, Pete's departure came on Christmas Day - a fitting final gesture to ensure that, from now on, he will always be a topic of conversation at any festive meal. It's just like him, never missing an opportunity to leave a lasting impression. We can practically hear his voice, saying, "You'll be thinking about me EVERY Christmas now, Pal." with his mischievous giggle.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife Marsha - His 4 children Regina Harbour, Larenda Wray, Randell and Tera Holland. - His 18 grandchildren BJ and Asa Harbour, Angelyn Drake-Harbour and Devin Mitchell, Travis and Tabby Hardy, Joshua and Cheyenne McElhiney, Brian Carroll, Heath Carroll, Breonna Carroll, Matthew and Lucas Wray, Jacob, Rhett, Randi, Maecee and Riggen Holland - His 7 great-grandchildren Shane Bible, Drake and Maevri Harbour, Josh Mitchell, Shane Hardy, Violet and Trevor McElhiney. - And his older sister Shirley Mae Perry. - plus a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He joyfully reunites in heaven with his parents William Bailey and Edna Mae Hardy, his brother Billy Ralph "Punk" Hardy, his daughter Angela Marie Carroll, and his great-grandson Cameron Blake Harbour.

His absence leaves an ache in our hearts, but his memory, his strength, his loyalty, and his love will remain with us always.

Pete Hardy was a John Wayne fan and lived by these words we want to share on his behalf: "I have tried to live my life so that my family would love me and my friends respect me. The others can do whatever the hell they please." – Rest Peacefully, Bobby Hardy. Job well done.

Pallbearers: Randell Holland II, Jack McHorse, Charlie Hardy, Todd McHorse, Jacob Holland, George McHorse, Johnny Molina, and Jackson McHorse.

Honorary Pallbearers: Travis Hardy, Danny Branhall, and Hosh McElhiney.
