Married August 1st, 1959, he is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Jean Koym of Sealy, TX.
He was born in New Bielau, TX on Dec. 3rd, 1938. His childhood in New Bielau instilled a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, love of the outdoors, and his family. He was a very talented man with an ability to fix/build many things. He was a transport driver for Big Three Industries/Air Liquide from 1960 to 2001 when he retired.
He leaves behind his children, daughters Denise Alspaugh of Frydek, TX, and Debra Koym of Katy TX. Sons Dean Koym and partner Denise Casala of Caldwell, TX, Don Koym of Sealy, TX, and Darrin Koym and wife Donna of Sealy, TX, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Meta Koym.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1st from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Knesek's Funeral Home on 4th street in Sealy, TX. Rosary to follow.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 2nd at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, TX. Reception to follow in the church hall.
Graveside services be at 3:00 PM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, 9937 FM 155, La Grange, TX 78945
All friends and family are welcome. The family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, PO BOX 1950, Clarksburg, MD 20871, instead of flowers or other gifts.
