On May 17, 2024, Bobby Lawler Sr. passed away at his residence in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the fifth child of Berta Mae Johnson Lawler and Eugene Lawler Sr. Bobby was full of humor and could always make you laugh. He was a graduate of Winterboro High School in Talladega, Alabama and continued his education to receive a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Alabama State University in Montgomery Alabama.
In 1973, Bobby married his college sweetheart and four children were born to this union: Tara, Marvin Bobby Jr. and Jeremy. His favorite hobbies were fishing, watching sports and reading science fiction novels.
Bobby worked for many years in the public school systems of Perry, Montgomery, and Lowndes County Alabama. He also had a love for working with the public and therefore, chose Maxwell Air Force Base. He continued to work there until he was called home to be with his Heavenly Savior.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Lawler Sr. and Berta Mae Lawler; one son, Marvin D. Lawler; three siblings: Annie Laura Laguerre, Billy Jack Lawler and Eugene Lawler Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Tara Lawler, Columbus, GA; two sons, Bobby Lawler Jr. Columbus GA; Jeremy Lawler, Eugene, OR; and two grandsons, Ari and Axl Eugene, OR; five sisters, Verdell Lawler Manhattan, NY, Mary Strong (James) Huntsville, AL, Gwendolyn Harris Manhattan, NY, Deloise Parker (Johnny) Huntsville, AL, and Omie Caradine Malvern, AR; one brother Benny Lawler (Brenda) Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Bobby Lawler will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the The Fountain of Life Ministries (4015 Triana Blvd SW Huntsville, AL 35805) with Pastor James Strong officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Lawler will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
