Bobby Blair Lewis, 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on November 12, 2025. Bobby was born on June 29, 1937 in Lowland, NC, the son of Charlie and Celia Lewis. In 1959 he married his sweetheart Brenda Watson, raised four children, and together they spent the next sixty years at their home in Lowland.
Bobby spent his working career as a tugboat captain and marine electrician. He was an active resident of the Goose Creek Island community, a founding member of the Goose Creek Island Volunteer Fire Department, a long-standing member of the Ruritan Club, and a friend and helper to all in the community. For as long as he was able, his retirement years were spent sailing his boat out to Pamlico Point to fish, and spending time with his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda and his brother Charles. He is survived by his children Cathy (Paul) Lupton of Lowland, Nancy (Mark) Ross of Lowland, Blair (Nancy) Lewis of Matthews, NC, and Charlie (Karen) Lewis of New Bern, NC. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
His family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Gardens of Pamlico and Hospice of Pamlico for the love and care they provided during his final year.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 10am at Watson Cemetery on Watson Road in Lowland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider donations to the Goose Creek Island Community Center, Goose Creek Island Volunteer Fire Department, or a charity of your choice in his honor.
