Bobby Ralph McGee

Funeral service for Bobby Ralph McGee, 90, of Borden Springs will be Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Mr. Kermit Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Borden Springs Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Mr. McGee passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. Mr. McGee is survived by his children, Teresa Corby (Jim) of Choccolocco, Stephen McGee (Tori) of Rainsville and Daryl McGee (Tamara) of Chelsea; seven grandchildren, James Capps Corby II (Courtney), Cody October McGee, Rebecca Lynn McGee, Evonne Marie McGee, Christopher Neal McGee (Emily), Kaleigh Michelle Simmons (Ethan) and Brandon Alexander McGee; one great-grandchild, James Michael "Cale" Corby III; one sister, Carolyn Pike of Piedmont; and one brother, Franklin McGee of Jacksonville. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice "Bunny" McGee; brothers, Dink McGee and John Wayne McGee; and a sister Daisy McGee. Mr. McGee was born and raised in Borden Springs, Alabama. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served one tour of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam and retired with 20 years of service to our country. After retirement from the Army, Mr. McGee was a civil service employee at Fort McClellan for 16 years until it's closure. He loved serving his community and was one of the founding members or the Borden Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He was known as the "unofficial" Mayor of the Borden Springs Community and was always the first person to meet and greet new residents to the community. Mr. McGee loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding on his tractor. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to the Borden Springs Volunteer Fire Department, 39155 County Road 49, Piedmont, Alabama 36272 or to the Borden Springs Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, 39072 County Road 49, Piedmont, Alabama 36272.
