Bobby J. Miller, 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, and is now in God’s care. He was born on January 27, 1945, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Willie Lamar and Rosa Lee Wiggins Miller. Mr. Miller was retired from the United States Air Force and was a Viet Nam veteran. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. Mr. Miller also worked at Lowndes High School as a security guard was affectionately known as “Bird Man”. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Glenda; two daughters, Sherie (Norman), and Ann (Shaun); grandchildren, Kailynn, Allison, and Shaun Jr.; great-grandchildren, Abigail, River and Aria; sisters Norma and Gloria (Wayne, deceased); also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by two brothers Bill and David (Janna).
Services for Bobby J. Miller will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
