Bobby Linn Nussbaum lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia on Friday, May 23, 2025. He passed away peacefully at Ridgecrest Nursing Center in Warrensburg MO surrounded by his loved ones.
Bobby was born on September 21, 1942 in Warrensburg, son of Linn John and Stattie Gauchat Nussbaum. He grew up on a farm north of Leeton MO. He moved to the Kansas City area as a teenager to find work. He was employed at Remington Arms and R.B. Rice's meat packing company until it closed. He spent his remaining work years with Nussbaum Concrete until retirement.
On September 28, 1985 Bobby married Sharon Dennis in Leeton, MO.
He hunted arrowheads throughout his life. He loved to hunt deer and especially turkey. During his retirement he was well known in the community for working on lawn mowers and small engines. He enjoyed visiting with friends at the coffee shop and the local Casey's store. Bobby would often help friends with farming, working cattle or just whatever needed to be done. He enjoyed many vacations with family and friends. Bobby loved giving the grandkids rides around the yard on his lawn mower. He went to the Flea Market in Kansas City most Sundays with his brother Vernon.
Survivors include his wife Sharon, Daughters: Kelli Nussbaum (Sam) of Blue Springs, Jennifer Prince of Independence, Genessa Rush (Jeremy) of Warrensburg, Jennifer Berryman (Jared) of Springfield, Kortney Nussbaum (Joe Bayless) of Warrensburg. Grandchildren: Caitlin (Kevin), Alex, Carson, Jacob, Alexis, Jaden, Zander, Levi, Presley and Owen. Brother: Harley Nussbaum (Mary) of Warrensburg. Brother in law: Bill Smith (Barb) of Leeton. Sisters in law: Mary Middleton (James) of Topeka KS, Donna Nussbaum of Selma California, and Anita Nussbaum of Leeton. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and his two best furry buddies, Hank and Willie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers: Cletis, Vernon, Curtis, Marvin and Verl.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ridgecrest Nursing Center and ACG Hospice and those who offered love, prayers, and support during his final days. Bobby was a very humble and kind man and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. A private interment will take place at a later date at Greer Cemetery.
