Robert Duane "Bob" Nussbaum, 67, of Orrville, walked into the presence of the Lord on June 19, 2025. He was surrounded by family at LifeCare Hospice after a sudden decline in health.
Bob was born to Russell and Wanda (Shane) Nussbaum on February 24, 1958. He married Constance (Wilburn) Nussbaum on June 15, 1979 and they just celebrated 46 years of marriage. Their marriage was one of true collaboration, teamwork and of course, love.
Together, Bob and Connie raised three wonderful children on their farm, teaching them the value of hard work, family and a relationship with Jesus. Born to a farmer, farming was in Bob's blood and it was the thing that kept him moving and defying all odds, when he faced health challenges later in life. Known to those in the agriculture community as Farmer Bob, he never needed fame and recognition, but was always the first to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. Despite health challenges, no one ever heard Bob complain. His work ethic (and his oreo dessert) was legendary.
Bob was a 1976 graduate of Dalton High School. He and Connie were members of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston. Throughout the years Bob loved hosting the church for cookouts and hayrides.
Bob is survived by his wife Connie, his children, Abraham (Kimberlee), Andrea (Robert) Weaver and Alisha (Seth) Immel and his eight grandchildren, Isaiah and London Nussbaum; Luke, Alonnah, Jasmine and Noah Weaver; and Elijah and Gabriel Immel. His siblings Rodney (Marla), Roger (Jan), Gene (Amy) and Bonnie (Tom) Hodge, and brother-in-law, Lanier Smith. Bob loved them all so much. His family could cure any ailment and bring joy in any situation. Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Smith, and his parents.
The family would like to give their deepest appreciation to LifeCare Hospice and to Wooster Community Hospital for the compassionate care they provided in Bob's last days. You truly were a blessing to Bob and to the family and your gifting of caring for others is evident.
The family would be deeply grateful to hear your memories and stories in the days and months ahead. Please don't hesitate to reach out and share them.
