James E. "Jim" Coburn, age 83, of Orrville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Danbury Senior Living in Wooster, following a period of declining health.

Born on December 2, 1941, in Massillon, Ohio, Jim was the son of Homer and Martha (Eschliman) Coburn. He graduated from Massillon Washington High School and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1962 to 1968.

On June 14, 1968, Jim married the love of his life, Margaret A. "Margie" Sommer, in Kidron. Together, they recently celebrated 57 years of devoted marriage. Margie survives him.

Jim dedicated 33 years of his professional life to Orrville Savings Bank, where he rose through the ranks to retire as Executive Vice President in 2000. Known for his integrity, leadership, and commitment to the community, Jim left a lasting impression on both colleagues and customers.

A man of faith, Jim was a member of Orrville Christian Church. He and Margie shared a passion for travel and were fortunate to visit most of the United States. For 18 cherished years, they spent winters in Sarasota, Florida, enjoying the sunshine and fellowship.

In addition to his beloved wife, Margie, he is survived by his grandson, Blake (fiancée Hannah Berg) Burkhart of Orrville; brother, Bill (Barb) Coburn of Strasburg; brothers-in-law, John Sommer of Akron and James (Diane) Sommer of Lakeland, FL; and sister-in-law, Janet Sommer of Orrville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his cherished daughter, Tina Marie Burkhart; brother-in-law, Robert Sommer; and sister-in-law, Nellie Sommer.

A private memorial service will be held, at the convenience of the family, at Auble Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Orrville Christian Church, 925 North Elm Street, Orrville, OH 44667, or online at orrvillechristian.org.
