Mr. Bobby Lee (Bob) Parrott, of Fairburn, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 91, in Union City, GA. He was born on July 31, 1932, in Palmetto, GA.
He retired from Delta Airlines as a Lead Mechanic after 43 years of loyal service and later found fulfillment working part-time at Parrott Funeral Home.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. While he didn't often speak of his time in the Navy, he would share stories of his exciting experiences as a hurricane hunter and his passion for playing baseball on the Naval Base baseball team.
For Bob, life held simple pleasures that brought him joy – cutting the grass, gardening, playing golf, and cherishing time with his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Lee Parrott.
Bob leaves behind his devoted wife of 70 years, Carol Harless Parrott, his son, Tim H. Parrott (Marsha) and daughter, Sue Parrott, daughter-in-law Karen Wheeler Parrott, grandchildren, Brittnie Rouse (Clint), Haylee Smith, Heather Parrott Champion (Jason), Ashley Parrott McEvoy (Greg), Hunter Parrott (Kali), and Crystal Bruce (Brad), as well as great-grandchildren, Lee, J.C., Andrew, Parker, Ryder, Cooper, Cade, Brody, Reed, Hudson, Rylee, Clay, and Bella. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Parrott Evans-Aaron.
A visitation in honor of Bob will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory. A private family interment will follow on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob can be made to Southwest Christian Care at 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291. May Bob rest in peace, remembered for his dedication to his work, love for his family, and service to his country.
