Bobby Donald Rankin, 78, of Greenwood departed this life on October 28, 2023. Bob was born in Fort Smith on April 23, 1945. He served in the Navy for five years and was retired from Fort Chaffee. Bob was a member of the Jenny Lind Baptist Church and the Hawg Hunter Bass Club. He loved to fish and deer hunt and passed away doing what he loved to do and that was being at deer camp in Muddy Creek.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents William and Minnie May, brothers Billy and Jimmy Joe and sister Patsy Johnson.
Survivors include his loving chickadee, wife Marilyn, of 57 years; his two sons, Jason and wife, Christy and Justin and wife, Allexcia; five grandchildren, Robert and wife, Tatum, Austin and fiancé, Brianna Watson, Alexander, Anna Seefeldt and husband, Nathan and Sage and fiancé, Sequoyah Crumb; one great-grandchild, Karla, with one more due in April.
Memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, November 3 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with a graveside ceremony scheduled for a later date. Visitation with the family will be held before the service beginning at 9 a.m.
Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Seefeldt, Sequoyah Crumb, Dr. Jonathan Clark, Matthew Gregory, Kevin Holland and Ethan Johanson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Bob can be sent to Hawg Hunter Youth Club, 4806 Alma Hwy., Van Buren, AR 72956.
