Bobby Joseph Rousse

Bobby Joseph Rousse, age 75, passed away on July 5, 2025 at Merit Hospital in
Hattiesburg, MS after a brief battle with cancer. Bobby was born on September 27, 1949
to Edless and Marilyn Rousse and raised in Galliano, LA. He married Kathy Chabert on
March 13, 1967 and had three children, Peter Rousse, Wade Rousse and Laura Rousse
Engemann. Kathy and Bobby spent the majority of their life living together and raising
their family in Lafourche Parish Louisiana and Lamar County Mississippi.
Bobby had a deep love for his family. He taught his children the value of hard work and
the love of the outdoors. Many of his children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces
learned how to hunt at his favorite place on earth, the Gutbusters Hunting Camp in
Woodville, MS. Bobby developed a love for cooking that benefited not only his family
members but many friends and neighbors.
Bobby is survived by his three children: Peter Rousse (Tami); Wade Rousse (Angela);
and Laura R. Engemann (Clark). He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Jessica
Knight-Rousse, Kaitlyn Rousse Warren, John Rousse, Mark Engemann and Oliver
Engemann, as well as his two great grandchildren: Redding Courtney and Jake Warren.
To honor Bobby's wishes, there will be a private family service and his remains will be
buried next to his beloved wife, Kathy.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make a donation in Bobby's
name to his and Kathy's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
