BOBBY SILVEY
Robert Lester Silvey, Sr., age 53, of Versailles, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at his home. He was born May 12, 1970 in Sedalia, Missouri, a son of Gilbert Leon Silvey, Sr. and Nancy Sue (LaFoy) Sink.
On September 27, 2014 in Versailles, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Lynn Roberts. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Silvey, Jr. of Harrisonville, Missouri; his mother, Nancy Sink of Versailles, Missouri; a sister, Dee Martin and husband Tim of East Lynne, Missouri; a brother, Gilbert "Jay" Silvey, Jr. of Versailles, Missouri; nephews and nieces, Timmy Martin and wife Brittany, Madison Buie and husband Keanan and Jayson Silvey; great-nephews, Tucker Martin and Harrison Buie and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bobby was raised in Stover, Missouri, and later moved to the Kansas City area. He was a graduate of Hickman Mills High School in the class of 1989. He was a welder for Bratton Steel Manufacturing in Kansas City where he was a top welder and helped build several bridges in California. He retired after twenty years of service and moved to Versailles, Missouri in 2009.
Spending time with family and friends was the thing he enjoyed most. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. He learned to ride a unicycle and kept moving to a taller and taller bike.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Pentecostals of Versailles (A United Pentecostal Church in Versailles) 105 W. Cleveland, Versailles, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to any organization the assists with mental illness, suicide prevention or Alzheimer's disease.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
