Bobby Dean Stiffler

Bobby Dean Stiffler age 84 of Gurdon passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024 in Arkadelphia.
Bobby was born March 27, 1940, to Milton T. and Ada Stiffler in Whelen Springs, Arkansas. Bobby attended school for a few years in Whelen until he transferred to Gurdon Schools and graduated from the class of 1959. Bobby was a fun and slightly mischievous teenager as most boys are at that age. The friends he made while in high school were his lifelong friends. During this time, he met the love of his life Kaye Overton, who he was married to for the past 61 years.
After graduation from high school Bobby enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1963, where he received several awards and training as a machinist. Bobby could not stand the thought of leaving his best girl, but Kaye could not go with Bobby and they were not yet married. So, Bobby remedied that by proposing to Kaye. Bobby and Kaye then snuck away to First Baptist Church in Camden, Arkansas to get married on January 5th, 1963, and kept their marriage a secret for a short time.
Bobby and Kaye welcomed a baby girl on March 1, 1978, they named her Carey Ellen. She has been the light of their life ever since. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and being a part of whatever the family was doing. He was a long-time member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Stiffler, and a sister Becky Lester.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Kay Stiffler; his daughter Carey Harrington both of Gurdon; brother David Stiffler (Sara) of Jacksonville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm Monday, July 22, 2024, at Beech Street Baptist Church. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00am Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Rose Hedge Cemetery with Bro. David Graves officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Gurdon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Foyil, David Kuhn, Greg Renfro, Brett Renfro, Bo Vandiver, DeWayne Harper, Hayden Harper, and Randy Stiffler.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beech Street Baptist Church and the Clark County Humane Society.
